COURSE DESCRIPTION
A study of the Scriptural teaching concerning the church, with attention to the nature and necessity of ecclesiastical offices, the attributes and marks of the church, and the means of grace, including preaching and the holy sacraments. An exegetical and historical study of the Scriptural principles for the organization of the New Testament church, an analysis of various systems of polity, and a comparative study of church government.
ABOUT PROFESSOR
Rev. Mark Vander Hart is Associate Professor of Old Testament Studies, Mid-America Reformed Seminary.
He is a member of the Society for Biblical Literature, the Evangelical Theological Society, the Calvin Studies Society, and the National Association of Professors of Hebrew. Rev. Vander Hart has taught in Cyprus, Ukraine, Myanmar, Latvia, and India.
Previously taught at BRTS: Pre-Exilic Prophets; Post-Exilic Prophets; Ecclesiology; Pentateuch, Old Testament History; Messianic Message in OT; Biblical Greek; Biblical Hebrew.
