COURSE DESCRIPTION
We will patiently read the Epistle to the Hebrews. Some passages of this epistle are quite shocking; we will try to understand them in the whole of the epistle. We will see that this epistle helps Christians to understand the relevance of the Mosaic law and of the Old Testament stories.
ABOUT PROFESSOR
Dr. Frans Wisselink (born in 1957) completed his theological studies in Kampen (NL). In 1989 he defended a dissertation about New Testament textual criticism; he concluded that the majority of New Testament manuscripts is trustworthy because they do not remove existing differences between the Gospels. He is pastor in the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands since 1987. He lived with his wife Lia and his six children in Lubumbashi (RDC) from 1994 until 2000: he trained local church workers and was one of the professors of the Reformed Theological School in Lubumbashi (Old Testament, New Testament, Hermeneutics). Since 2012 he is pastor in the Reformed Church of Almelo (NL).
